Mark your calendars for the 17th Annual Handmade Holidays Makers Market (HHMM)!
From November 21-22nd, Art Center East (ACE) will once again be transformed into a gallery of beautifully handcrafted wares.
You know how fast time goes. Before we know it, gifting season will be upon us. Give yourself time to savor a special selection for everyone on your list instead of stuffing those stockings with the same old thing.
Leather, woodworking, artisan foods, bath and body products, art prints, clothing, home decor and more! The market is a great way to shop locally and to support the talented artisans of La Grande and beyond. \
What Makes the Handmade Holiday Makers Market So Special?
One of the things that makes this market so special? ACE selects vendors based on quality and uniqueness. This curated lineup embodies the idea of premium handmade goods.
It’s why the HHMM has emerged as one of the area's most popular markets for the past seventeen years.
The doors will swing open on Friday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, November 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event is FREE and all are welcome to stop in at ACE’s Penn Avenue entrance, 1006 Penn Avenue!

Why is Buying Local Important?
We all hear the words “buy local” but why is it so important to a community like La Grande?
With so many talented makers here, buying local strengthens our economy and also encourages local wealth building.
For example, did you know that for every $100 spent at a locally-owned business, a whopping $73 remains in La Grande, compared to the $43 that remains when purchasing from a chain?
Remember, almost every business started out as a small, local one. By supporting our talented makers, you’re becoming a part of their success story.
Next month, we’ll be talking more about the importance of shopping local and the vital impact small businesses have on the Oregon economy.
